Surianne Hestia Christmas Appeal

Following the hugely successful launch of her charity single ‘Stronger Than Before’ that enetered the iTunes UK Top 100 Latino songs at #56, she continues her work as an Ambassador for London based charity Hestia Housing & Support, voluntarily organising music workshops and events, raising as much funds and awareness for for Hestia’s Domestic Violence services, in specific for children and family projects.

Aiming to raise £1000 by Dec 31st 2011, the download of the single will go directly to Hestia’s children and family projects – these vital funds will enable mothers and children affected by domestic violence to rebuild their lives. Hestia’s Marketing Coordinator, Francois Ferriere explains that,

“At 79p per download, every 10 singles downloaded could provide toys and learning materials for children living in any of our 10 domestic violence refuges. Every 20 singles downloaded could provide a basic pack of toiletries and food for a person coming into one of the emergency refuges – so your help really does make a difference!”

We need as much help as possible and need you to download the single and pass this email to all your friends and family. Help us help bring a smile to the families at the refuge this christmas!

Surianne is currently writing and preparing new material for her debut album, working alongside guitarist David Saavedra (previous collaborations include Chema Saiz, Felix Santos, Nono Garcia and Rafael Riqueni) and artists such as emerging British Hip Hop talent Gak Jonze .

Surianne is going from strength to strength attracting a loyal fan base in the UK, Spain and Gibraltar with her feisty rhythmical Latino sound and her eclectic band of musicians. Watch out for her UK & Spain tour in 2012.

On Thursday 25th August, Leisure Island Gibraltar will host an exclusive FREE gig featuring MOBO award winner John Adeleye (JNay) in aid of local children’s charity Wobbles.

John's visit to Gibraltar and his performance will not only help raise vital funds and awareness for the charity but will involve John in several community activities such as; photo opportunity for children with Wobbles mascot and John, a meet and greet session for the fans, a tea party with Wobbles deserving children with John as a special surprise guest as well as a visit to the local hospital.

The event on Thursday 25th starts just after 8pm with exclusive performances by international guitarist David Saaverdra and singer songwriter Surianne who will perform an exclusive acoustic set. The stage will be set on Leisure Island Ocean Village, were there will also be a few kids activities amongst other exciting things happening on the night!

John who is very much looking forward to meet his fans, is extremely grateful for the ongoing support to make this happen. A special mention has to be given to the sponsors Parody Tour, Savannah, O'Rielly's, Casino, Bassadone Motors who have made this possible.

I am very pleased to announce that SugaSmak ; made up of the hugely successful MOBO-award nominated singer, Nate James and Matt Gooderson from electro-Indie band "The Infadels" and David Jordan who had a hit single in 2008 'Sun Goes Down' are performing at Live Music event on Wednesday 23rd March in aid of Hestia charity. This is a free event from 8PM until 10PM, with an after party until 3am, and takes place at Jalouse private club.

Melancholy melodies, acoustic guitars and percussive rhythms echo through the walls of London’s sensational Hotel Verta in aid of Domestic Violence charity, Hestia

London’s sensational Hotel Verta opened its doors on Wednesday the 2nd March to an exclusive clientele from the music, film, fashion and media industry. The event was to celebrate the launch of the charity single ‘Stronger Than Before’ by independent singer songwriter Surianne for London based charity, Hestia.

A host of celebrities supported this worthwhile caus to help to raise awareness for Hestia’s Domestic Violence Services.i The red carpet greeted guests such as Sam Faiers, Billie Faiers and Harry Derbidge from the hit TV show “The Only Way is Essex”, Julian Bennett from “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and “The Only Way is Essex”, ITV’s “Dancing on Ice” celebrity ice skater and TV presenter Laura Hamilton, Paul Isola from alternative metal and Flamenco band “Breed 77”, independent soul & funk artist Nate James, X Factor’s John Adeleye, funk soul artist David Jordan, former model and TV presenter Alisha White, models Abi Titmuss & April Summers, Big Brothers Rex Newmark, the Queen’s personal hairdresser Ian Carmichael and Pineapple Dance Studios choreographer Andrew Stone.

The night was filmed by Jonny Nash, interviewed Charlotte Devaney (UnseenTV) and guests were treated to exclusive live music performances by Surianne, John Adeleye, David Jordan and Guy Valarino, in the magnificent ‘Vertalon’ bar whilst guests enjoyed complimentary canapés and champagne, surrounded by extraordinary panoramic views of the river Thames.

Singer / songwriter Surianne, who brings a new wave of sound in flamenco inspired Latin rock, was accompanied on stage by her talented acoustic band and performed songs from her upcoming EP including Hetsia’s charity single ‘Stronger Than Before’; which entered the UK Top 100 Latino songs at #56 and is available for download through online music portals such as iTunes, Amazon MP3 and MySpace Music.

Her outstanding performance was extremely well received by all, as Andrew Thomason, Hotel Verta’s General Manager quotes “Hotel Verta is extremely proud to be supporting Hestia, and to be chosen as the venue to launch Surianne’s new single ‘Stronger Than Before’ which was an amazing live performance. All the staff at the hotel have fallen in love with Surianne and we wish her all the luck with her music career.”

Also performing on the night was up and coming singer/songwriter Guy Valarino who sang songs from his EP ‘Sleeping On A Couch’ including the beautiful ballad ‘Two More Days’, David Jordan who showcased songs from his new album including his 2008 hit song ‘Sung Goes Down’ and soul singer John Adeleye also known as J’Nay, who performed exclusive songs from his soon to be released album.

Julian Bennett and Sam Faiers who also took to the stage, expressed their support to this worthwhile cause that runs in conjunction with the centenary celebration of International Women’s Day held on March 8th, “I met Surianne and Francois from Hestia back in December last year when I attended the pre-launch event for the charity single. It was then that I learned about the outstanding support offered by Hestia to women and children who are affected by Domestic Violence. There is however still a great deal of work that is needed to help raise public awareness and additional funding for Hestia’s domestic violence services. Like Surianne, I too want to help spread the word about the great work that this charity does every day supporting many more people across London – not just the women and children in the refuges.” (Sam Faiers)

Surianne is an independent artist who through her music is trying to make a difference in people’s lives. By supporting her and downloading the single, she hopes to raise as much money as possible for the children and family projects at Hestia’s domestic violence refuges.
